How this journey began: love, goodbyes & a dream to save more lives

We’re two sisters, two working mums with demanding jobs, young children, busy days — and one big passion that has been with us all our lives: our love for animals and our love for creativity.

That’s how Pet Treasures Studio was born. A heart-driven project that took shape in late nights, breaks between tasks and moments borrowed from our busy routines — so we could build something that truly brings us joy.

Our story is made of love, goodbyes and new beginnings. In 2024, we said a heartbreaking “see you later” to three of our dearest treasures: Billy, Zé and Olivia.

Billy was our golden retriever, rescued from abuse when he was just one year old. He stayed by our side for 16 years, filling our home with unconditional love and that healing look only a rescue dog can give.

Zé, our tabby cat, came into our lives in the most unexpected way — we found him inside a car engine, a tiny, scared kitten who turned into our purring shadow for 15 wonderful years.

And then there was Olivia, our white British Long Hair with amber eyes, rescued from neglect. She lived with us for only one intense year but left a mark so deep it feels like she’s still here every day.

Losing them left an emptiness words can’t fill — but it also lit a fire in us: to honour their memory by creating art that celebrates the bond between pets and humans, and to turn love into action for animals who need it most.

Today, we share our home (and hearts) with our furry family: our cats Freddy, Ginja, Sebastião, Charlie Caramelo, Baltazar, Xavier, Godinho and Simão — and our dogs Ollie and Sissi (Simão and Sissi belong to our mum, but we care for them every day too).

Every piece we create — whether it’s custom artwork, a cosy print, a playful mug or a comfy sweatshirt — carries this mission: to celebrate the unbreakable bond between pets and their humans, spread joy and turn love into action. Because a portion of every sale goes directly towards rescuing, caring for and rehoming abandoned animals — helping us save more lives, one by one.
